The Israeli army will create about 350 self-defense units

The Israeli armed forces plan to create 347 local self-defense units. Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper announces this. The residents will be en masse included in the new formations, which will be part of the structure of the Israel Defense Forces and will be subject to the command of the rear. Volunteers will receive the necessary equipment and firearms and undergo special training.

As the newspaper notes, previously, self-defense units were created only in the border zone, but after the attack of the Palestinian radical Hamas movement, settlements in other regions of the country joined this initiative. Such formations were created in at least 17 settlements during the past week.
