Israel's parliament has authorized prison overcrowding under a state of emergency

Today, Israel's parliament passed a law allowing Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir to declare a state of emergency, changing the rules for keeping prisoners.
Under the law, if a state of emergency is declared, prisons can hold more inmates in one cell than usual, sleeping on two mattresses instead of beds.
