US President Joe Biden, as a friend, intends to ask Israel "tough questions" when he visits Tel Aviv on Wednesday.
Biden will first meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. That meeting would later expand to include other US officials and the Israeli military cabinet.
US White House spokesman John Kirby said the president "will prepare to get information from the Israelis about the situation on the ground and, more specifically, their goals, plans, intentions in the coming days and weeks."
