The Israeli army will evacuate the residents of 28 settlements bordering Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces has announced that it is preparing to evacuate civilians living in towns up to 2 km from the Lebanese border to protect them from continued rocket fire by Hezbollah and its allied Palestinian groups.

Israel's Ministry of Defense's emergency management department said residents will be moved to state-funded guesthouses after Defense Minister Yoav Galant approves the plan.

Israel's Defense Ministry says it has notified local government leaders in the area about the upcoming implementation of the plan.
