Human Rights Watch says Israel has used white phosphorus in Gaza and Lebanon

Human Rights Watch accused Israel on Thursday of using white phosphorus munitions during military operations in Gaza and Lebanon, saying its use is causing severe and long-term civilian injuries. Responding to a request for comment on the allegations, the Israeli military said it was unaware of using weapons containing white phosphorus in Gaza.

Israel is bombing the Gaza Strip in response to an attack by Hamas in southern Israel that killed at least 1,300 people this week.
