Israel is buying 10,000 firearms. Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir announced this on his page on the X social network.
"I ordered to buy more than 10,000 firearms. In the first phase, 4,000 machine guns were purchased. Starting today, they will be distributed to reservists in settlements and mixed cities (of Jews and Arabs) near the contact lines," the message said.
The minister also announced the appointment of retired policeman Shimon Lavi as the head of the project of formation and arming of volunteer units.
