The UN Security Council discussed the situation around the Gaza Strip, but a document still needs to be adopted.
"We have not discussed a general statement, but no one has proposed any text," Malta's permanent representative to the UN, Vanessa Frazier, told reporters. He added that it is about what the parties can do in the current situation to protect the civilian population and stop the violence.
Robert Wood, the US Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, said that "the members of the Security Council agreed that these attacks should not have happened. Let's hope the situation will not worsen. We will do everything to prevent it from spreading."
