"Hamas' attack on Israel is not related to the West's focus on the situation in Ukraine," said US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
When asked whether there is a feeling that the attack was an attempt to take advantage of the West's attention to Ukraine, Blinken responded negatively:
"No, I don't see it, but one thing is clear. We are actively working to help Israel and Saudi Arabia normalize their relations and expand Israel's relations with many other countries in the region and beyond. It is tough work, and whether we can achieve it is unclear. But if we could, it would change the entire region's prospects in the future," said Blinken.
