The US State Department has confirmed the US, EU, and Russia met secretly in Istanbul.

Vendant Patel, the spokesperson of the US State Department, confirmed that on September 17, 2 days before Azerbaijan's aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh, representatives of the US, EU, and Russia met in Istanbul to discuss issues related to the Nagorno-Karabakh problem.

"We communicate quite regularly with stakeholders in the region, and the September 17 meeting in Istanbul was initiated to address Nagorno-Karabakh, particularly the pressing humanitarian issues and potential humanitarian aid," Patel noted.
