The strategic communications coordinator of the US National Security Council, John Kirby, referred to the call made by French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna in Yerevan to provide solid international support to Armenia.
"We continue to monitor this situation very closely. The situation is still very, very tense. We remember that the vast majority—almost all ethnic Armenians—have now left Nagorno-Karabakh. And there's a serious problem with humanitarian aid. That's why the head of USAID, Samantha Power, was just there a few days ago."
He noted that the USA is sending 11 million dollars in humanitarian aid, "So we're very focused on the humanitarian situation, and we're doing everything we can to alleviate the suffering, but we're also again encouraging, certainly encouraging, Azerbaijan to meet its commitments, its publicly stated commitments."
