Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani referred to Armen Grigoryan's visit to Tehran.
According to the official, Armen Grigoryan's visit to Iran corresponds to the continuation of contacts and negotiations between Iran and Armenia on bilateral issues and the latest developments in the Caucasus.
Kanani noted that negotiations between an Armenian official and the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran took place yesterday. The latest developments were discussed during the meeting, and the situation between Azerbaijan and Armenia was touched upon.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs representative stated that military movements in the Caucasus region were also discussed at the meeting, and the conference allowed Iran to express its opinion on using the region's options to resolve disputes in the area.
Kanani said that Armen Grigoryan will meet with Iran's Foreign Minister today, adding that regional peace, stability, and security are essential for Iran. "It can be said that the basis of this visit is the desire of the neighbors to talk with Iran."
