Due to the tense situation in Kosovo, NATO will send around 200 British soldiers to the country. They will be deployed there as part of the KFOR peacekeeping force and the 400 British troops already in Kosovo for exercises. The official representative of the North Atlantic Alliance, Dylan White, announced this.
According to him, other allies will also increase their KFOR troops. The British Army unit was sent to the NATO force commander in Kosovo at the special request of US General Christopher Cavoli, the commander of NATO's joint forces in Europe.
The alliance cites the September 24 attack on the Kosovo police and the growing regional tension as the reasons for reinforcing the military. NATO calls on Belgrade and Pristina for dialogue for "sustainable peace."
