Putin expressed satisfaction with overcoming the "acute phase of the conflict" in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The press service of the Kremlin has given details about the telephone conversation between the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. It is noted that it was held at the initiative of the Armenian side.

The latest development of the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh was discussed. Vladimir Putin noted with satisfaction that it was possible to overcome the acute phase of the conflict and welcomed the agreement reached with the active participation of Russian peacekeepers on the complete cessation of hostilities and the holding of negotiations between the representatives of Baku and Stepanakert on September 21. Those negotiations will take place with the mediation of the leadership of the Russian peacekeeping contingent.

"Despite the difficult conditions, the peacekeepers continue to fulfill their assigned tasks and provide comprehensive assistance to the civilian population and refugees, including military doctors. The parties expressed hope that the situation will develop in the direction of de-escalation and stabilization," the statement said.
