France demands to convene an extraordinary session of the UN Security Council
The French Foreign Ministry made a statement.
"France strongly condemns Azerbaijan's military operation in Nagorno-Karabakh using heavy weapons, including against residential areas. No pretext can justify such a unilateral action that threatens thousands of civilians who have already suffered months of illegal blockade. Those steps counter the international community's efforts to reach a negotiated settlement.
France calls on Azerbaijan to immediately stop its attack and return to respect for international law. He will be solely responsible for the fate of the civilian population of Nagorno-Karabakh.
