The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia has stated that the interference of the US Embassy in Moscow in the internal affairs of Russia is unacceptable and will be firmly prevented. The Russian Foreign Ministry declared the employees of the American diplomatic mission in Moscow persona non grata.

The department emphasized that the Russian side expects the correct conclusions to be drawn in Washington, and the US will refrain from aggressive steps.

The first and second secretaries of the US Embassy in Moscow were declared "persona non grata." they must leave the territory of Russia within seven days.

Before that, it became known that the US ambassador to Moscow, Lynn Tracy, was summoned to Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
