Citing the written response of the German Ministry of the Interior to Bundestag deputy Clara Bünger, the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung newspaper on Friday, September 8, reported that the number of refugees in Germany has reached a new high in recent decades. As of the end of June of this year, 3.26 million people were registered as refugees in the Central Register of Foreigners, which is 111 thousand more than at the end of 2022.
