"The impeachment of the president of Georgia will increase polarization and will not contribute to the country's European integration," said the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell. Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili responded, noting that the authorities are building a strong democracy and the rule of law, where the constitution is first protected.
"We gave an official response, showing that we respect and defend our country's constitution, laws, and the principle of the rule of law. This decision has nothing to do with the European integration process," Gharibashvili said.
