Advisor to the President of Azerbaijan, Hikmet Hajiyev, gave an extensive interview with "Arab News," referring to the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, the peace process, negotiations and the current situation.
Hajiyev, in particular, said:
"There are different platforms. We do not give preference to one or the other. We welcome anyone's desire to contribute to establishing real peace. On the one hand, the Brussels process is supported by the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, which is very appreciable. The essential elements of the peace treaty negotiations on the Council for the Regulation of Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan were created on that platform.
We also highly appreciate the personal involvement of the US government and, in particular, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in the peace treaty discussions. They have done a lot.
We cannot deny the role of Russia either. They also contribute to the cause because they are part of the region and have historical relations with Armenia and Azerbaijan."
