Advisor to the President of Azerbaijan, Hikmet Hajiyev, interviewed "Arab News," referring to the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, the negotiation process and the peace treaty.
Hajiyev, in particular, stated: "Unfortunately, we see that elements of geopolitical competition are playing in the South Caucasus region, and our message is also to the great powers: do not export your internal political agenda to our area. We also see that Armenia, unfortunately, is becoming another Syria in our region, as it is divided between the great powers according to their geopolitical interests.
The EU is doing a mission there. We were told that it was a civilian, short-term mission, but it has become long-term, with military personnel.
Anyone who wants to contribute to peace and security in the region instead of diplomatic adventure and propaganda should seriously support the negotiations of the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace treaty."
