NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg gave CNN a successful assessment of the Ukrainian army's counterattack. "The Ukrainians are gradually gaining ground, pushing back the Russians and are able to break through some of the well-fortified areas despite the minefields," he said.
According to Stoltenberg, the successes of the Ukrainians are gathering new momentum during the brutal battles.
