The new EU regulation will tighten control over social networks and the Internet

The EU Digital Service Act (DSA) significantly tightens control over 19 major platforms, including TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, YouTube, Google, and the Amazon Store. It comes into force in the EU on Friday.

According to Thierry Breton, European Commissioner for the Internal Market, the priorities of the new law will be the protection of children and the fight against disinformation.
