Shipping in the Dardanelles Strait has been suspended

To ensure air extinguishing of the sizeable natural fire that broke out in Canakkale province, the Turkish authorities stopped the movement of ships in the Dardanelles Strait in both directions. The Turkish Coast Guard Service reports this.

Previously, navigation in the Dardanelles Strait was carried out in one direction. The strait was closed several times to fight the fire by the air force.
