Azerbaijani MFA spokesman Aykhan Hajizade condemned Canada, commenting on the words of Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Jolie during a meeting with the Armenian community.
"This is not the first time that Canada's foreign minister has made unilateral statements in support of separatism and revanchist forces in the region, expressing pro-Armenian sentiments, the statement reads.
The spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry also accused Canada of applying a biased approach. "We once again demand from Canada that it refrain from such provocative steps and respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan," Hajizadeh concluded.
