Politicians continue to be killed in Ecuador.

His party friends reported that Pedro Briones, the leader of the left-wing "Civil Revolution" movement in Esmeraldas province of Ecuador, was killed by unknown persons near his home on Monday, August 14. 

A few days ago, another politician was killed in the country, the presidential candidate of the "Order" movement, Fernando Villavicencio. He was shot three times in the head after a pre-election meeting in Quito. Extraordinary presidential and parliamentary elections will be held in Ecuador on August 20.
