In Spain and Portugal there are forest fires that have covered thousands of hectares.
A new wave of hot weather has reached the Iberian Peninsula, which contributes to the spread of fires.
According to the National Department of Civil Defense of Portugal, a thousand firefighters and 12 aircraft were sent to fight the fire in the central and southern parts of the country.
The forest fire, which is currently being battled by more than 800 firefighters, started on Saturday in the municipality of Odemira in the Alentejo region, but has since spread south to the Algarve, one of Portugal's top tourist destinations.
According to the authorities, 19 small villages and four tourist bases were evacuated as a precaution. Several roads were closed, including part of the A1 highway between Lisbon and Porto.
