Russia is not a party to the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan; Miller

Matthew Miller, the spokesperson of the US State Department, referred to the statements from Russia regarding the Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations, saying that a hasty approach to the peace treaty will create new conflicts.

"We cannot say anything about Russia. Moreover, I want to talk about the countries that are directly related to the issue and are parties to the conflict. We work directly with those countries; special envoy Bono visited the region last week and had a direct conversation. And we believe that contrary to the comments of other countries that are not parties to this conflict, a peace agreement is within reach, and we will continue to work with them in pursuit of this goal," he said.

It should be noted that the director of the fourth department of the CIS countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Denis Gonchar, stated that "the attempt to hastily conclude a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia, to the detriment of quality and proper preparation, will lead to new conflicts in the future."
