The Deputy Spokesperson of the UN Secretary-General stated the blockade of the Lachin Corridor.
"The Secretary-General is deeply concerned about reports of continuing problems with freedom of movement through the Lachine Corridor.
He recalls his previous statement on the need to implement the judgments of the International Court of Justice, including the decisions issued on 22 February 2023 and approved on 6 July 2023, regarding measures to ensure the unhindered movement of people, vehicles, and cargo through the Lachin Corridor: in both directions.
He is mainly concerned about reports of the deteriorating humanitarian situation and calls for immediate action to facilitate access to humanitarian aid for needy people.
He calls on both sides to intensify efforts towards the long-term normalization of relations for the benefit of peace and security in the region."
