There is a military coup in Nigeria

Referring to the statement made by the military on national television, the Reuters agency reported that the army of the Republic of Niger had announced the removal of Mohamed Bazum from the post of the country's president and the closing of the country's borders.

"We reaffirm respect for the physical and moral integrity of the former authorities through human rights," read the document, which was read on television by Colonel Amadou Abdraman, flanked by nine others in military uniform. They added that they decided to "put an end to this system due to the deterioration of security, economic, and social conditions."
