Spain has extradited the former head of the Venezuelan intelligence to the United States

On Wednesday, Spain extradited to the United States Hugo Carvajal, the former head of Venezuela's military counter-intelligence and an ally of Hugo Chávez. He has already been transferred to the United States and will appear in court in the morning.

US prosecutors accuse 63-year-old Carvajal of being a member of a drug cartel and, in particular, 17 years ago, as the head of military intelligence, he coordinated the shipment of five and a half tons of cocaine from Venezuela to Mexico.
