The President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, demanded the European Union to stop the sanctions against Venezuela. He announced this on the state TV channel "Venezolana de Televisión." Maduro expressed hope for starting a new phase of relations with European states.
He emphasized that the EU-Community of Latin America and the Caribbean (CELAC) summit held in Brussels "heard the voice of Venezuela, which demands an end to the sanctions, the blockade, an end to the aggression against Venezuela and respect for Venezuela."
