A Russian army general in Zaporizhia was fired over the report

Major General Ivan Popov announced that he was removed from the post of commander of Russia's 58th combined army, which is fighting in southern Ukraine in the Zaporizhia region. The corresponding audio file of Popov's appeal to his subordinates was published on his Telegram channel on Wednesday, July 12, by State Duma deputy Andrei Gurulev, who previously commanded the 58th Army.

In his application, Popov said he was fired because he "called a spade a spade" in his report to higher authorities, harshly exposing the problems of the Russian army, combat work, and support issues.
