Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba called on the German authorities not to repeat the mistake of former Chancellor Angela Merkel and not to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO, "All this stems from the NATO summit held in Bucharest in 2008 when the countries did not dare to accept this historic decision and ensure the security of the Euro-Atlantic zone," said the Ukrainian Foreign Minister.
According to Kyiv, Merkel's refusal to support Ukraine's integration into NATO in 2008 led to Russia's escalation and full-scale war against Ukraine.
