The EU and New Zealand have signed a free trade agreement

Representatives of the European Union and New Zealand signed an agreement on mutual free trade, as well as New Zealand's participation in the Horizon Europe program, within the framework of which the EU invests in various research.

Another document signed by representatives of the EU and New Zealand was a cooperation agreement between the island and the EU Police Service (Europol). Von der Leyen noted that this brings "two strong democracies with the same worldview and understanding of their responsibilities closer together."
