Ukraine foresaw the difficulties of a counterattack and asked the Allies to provide as many weapons as soon as possible to keep the Russians from strengthening their defenses. President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in an interview with CNN.
"I wanted our counterattack to occur much earlier because everyone understood that if the counterattack starts late, most of our territory will be mined. We give our enemy time and opportunity to lay more mines and prepare their defense lines," said Zelensky.
