In an interview with CNN, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on US President Joe Biden to immediately invite Ukraine to NATO, even if the actual entry did not occur during the war.
"He is in favor of us being in NATO in the future. It is needed right now, it is very important," Zelensky said. According to Zelensky, it is the US leader who can and should make such a decision (although any country of the alliance has the right to veto the expansion of NATO).
