"There is progress in the negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, but there is still a lot of work to be done." Blinken

Progress has been made in the negotiations between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in the USA. We Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stated this during the concluding plenary meeting with Armenian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers Jeihun Bayramov and Ararat Mirzoyan.

"I express my gratitude for the important and hard work of achieving a stable peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan and solving several other important issues that can contribute to developing relations between the countries. I am grateful for the time you spent here. This was the second round of negotiations we held," he said.

According to Blinken, much work must be done to reach a final agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“I appreciate the opportunity to meet you. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan's team also participated in this process. We will share the announcement. There is still a lot of work to be done to reach a final agreement," he said.

The Secretary of State of the United States stated that the USA expects to continue the negotiations in the coming weeks.

"We have had several meetings not only here but also with our partners in the European Union, the next meeting is expected in a few weeks with the participation of the EU, and we look forward to continuing this process in the coming weeks.

There is also a clear understanding: the closer we are, the closer we reach an agreement. I appreciate the spirit of honesty. Thank you for all your hard work over these three days. Thank you for the progress made and your determination to continue this work in the coming weeks and months," Blinken said.
