The European Commission is looking for legal grounds to confiscate Russian assets

The head of the European Commission (EC), Ursula Von der Leyen, announced that before the start of the summer holidays, EC experts will prepare a legal proposal on the transfer of confiscated Russian funds for the restoration of Ukraine.
According to her, Russia should bear responsibility for the situation in Ukraine, “Therefore, before the start of the summer holidays, we are preparing a legal proposal on the transfer of Russian assets," Von der Leyen said in an interview with several European newspapers.
