"Germany should not be guided only by the requests of others; it should also ensure its security," said German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, speaking in the Bundestag on Thursday.
He reminded that Germany's civil and military aid to Ukraine amounts to 16.8 billion euros. "In terms of support, we are the second after the USA," the chancellor said.
