NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has promised Ukraine to continue further assistance in the modernization of the armed forces "At the summit of the alliance countries in Vilnius, the allies will accept a long-term aid package that will adapt Ukraine to NATO standards. With our help, the Ukrainian military will be able to ensure the transition from the Soviet army to modern armed forces operating according to NATO standards," said Stoltenberg.
"We see that Ukraine can again achieve territorial gains after we trained and armed its army for months. But this is a difficult area, and the Russian army has built strong defensive lines, minefields, and tank barriers. It is difficult for Ukrainians to move forward, so our support is critical," added Stoltenberg.
