Russia is strengthening its defenses in the direction of Zaporizhia and Bakhmut

The British intelligence daily summary says that over the past ten days, Russia has begun moving its forces to the east bank of the Dnieper to reinforce the direction of Zaporizhzhia and Bakhmut.

We are talking about several thousand service members of the 49th Army, including the 34th separate motorized rifle brigade, airborne troops, and marine infantry units.

The redeployment of forces reflects Russia's view that a significant Ukrainian offensive across the Dnieper is less likely following the collapse of the Kakhovka dam and subsequent flooding.
