Japan may supply US missiles to Kiev

Japan may begin indirect supplies of American artillery shells to Ukraine. Negotiations on this issue continue between Washington and Tokyo. The "Wall Street Journal" reports.

According to the newspaper, we are talking about 155 mm projectiles.

Direct arms deliveries to belligerents, as well as through third countries, are prohibited by Japanese law. After World War II, the government declared demilitarization and non-participation in further conflicts. According to the WSJ, the missile supply negotiations are based on a 2016 agreement that allows Japan and the United States to exchange munitions as part of the countries' long-standing security alliance.
