The West is not ready to provide security guarantees to Kiev

Western allies of Ukraine still need to be ready to provide Ukraine with the security guarantees demanded by Kyiv. This was reported by the European edition of "Politico" newspaper on Thursday, citing NATO officials.

According to them, Western leaders have yet to reach a consensus on the possible provision of guarantees, the consequences of that step, and the proposed format of contracts. The publication notes that the West does not want to give Kyiv a date for NATO membership but "does not want to disappoint the Ukrainians either."
