The destruction of the Kakhovka HPP dam has improved the position of Russian troops

Maciej Matsiak, the military expert of the Stratpoints Foundation and former deputy head of Polish military counterintelligence, believes that as a result of the attack on the Kakhovka hydropower plant, Russian troops have improved their defensive positions against the expected Ukrainian counterattack.

Flooding caused by the destruction of a massive dam on the frontline will likely prevent the Ukrainian armed forces from using heavy weapons such as tanks or infantry fighting vehicles in the area for up to a month.
