The French presidency issued a message regarding the five-party meeting in Chisinau.
In particular, it is said in the message: "President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan held talks with the President of the Republic of France, Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz and President of the European Council Charles Michel within the framework of the second summit of the European Community held in Chisinau this Thursday, June 1.
The President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia confirmed their commitment on the recognition of mutual territorial integrity based on the Alma-Ata Declaration, which was confirmed in Prague on October 6, 2022. They reaffirmed mutual respect for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The European leaders called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to respect all their obligations, in particular, to release the prisoners of war as soon as possible. They also reminded the importance of introducing the EU observation mission in Armenia. In the end, they emphasized the importance of defining the rights and guarantees of Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians.
President Macron specifically emphasized the importance of not giving in to any hostile rhetoric and continuing efforts to restore peace for the benefit of the entire population of the region."
