The Financial Times reported that the British auction house Sotheby's bought a building in New York for 100 million dollars, where the Whitney Museum of American Art was located until 2015.
According to the newspaper, this building in Manhattan will become a place for significant auctions and exhibitions after the renovation is completed in 2025. It was built in the 1960s by architect Marcel Breuer. Sotheby's expects to preserve the architectural appearance of the building during the reconstruction.
