"The US Secretary of State is putting a lot of pressure on the issue of unblocking the Lachin Corridor;" Hogan

During the Foreign Relations Committee hearings of the House of Representatives, Ambassador Derek Hogan, First Deputy Assistant Secretary of State of the United States, referred to the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace negotiations and the role of the United States.

"The US diplomacy is actively involved in establishing a direct dialogue between the governments and peoples of Armenia and Azerbaijan to contribute to establishing stable and lasting peace. In early May, the Secretary of State hosted the foreign ministers of the two countries to work on some controversial issues, including the withdrawal of troops along the border, the dispute resolution mechanism in the agreement we are trying to reach an agreement on, namely the rights and security of ethnic Armenians in Nagorno Karabakh. We are also meeting closely with our EU partners. European Union President Charles Michel hosted the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan. The parties will soon meet with the Chancellor of Germany, the President of France, and the President of the EU to discuss what needs to be done to reach the endpoint. The Secretary of State is putting much pressure on unblocking the Lachin Corridor."
