Emergency news: Syria returns to the League of Arab States

The Council of Foreign Ministers of the League of Arab States returned Syria's membership to the organization after a ten-year suspension. The decision was taken at an emergency meeting held in Cairo.

Gamal Rushdi, the representative of the Secretary General of the Arab League, announced this on Sunday, May 7. The decision ends the isolation of President Bashar al-Assad's government, which was expelled from the organization in 2011 due to brutal repression against its people. The DPA agency reported it.
