The USA reacted with disappointment to Turkey's announcement to close the air border for Armenia
US Deputy Secretary of State Vedant Patel referred to the normalization process of Armenian-Turkish relations, adding that they reacted with disappointment to Turkey's announcement about closing the air border.
"The United States strongly supports the normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey, which is important for these two countries and the region's stability. We react disappointedly to Turkey's statement that it is suspending the flight permit for Armenian aircraft in its airspace. The agreement to restore air traffic was a significant measure in building mutual trust in these two countries and regional stability more broadly. We sincerely hope that Armenia and Turkey will continue to rebuild ties and open transport communication channels," he said.
