Aliyev stated: "Armenia is using the negotiations to delay, hoping its sponsors will help it. They drag out time, waiting for a miracle, for some changes. Their calculations turned out to be wrong. I think they will lose this opportunity because the years of occupation did not give them any advantage. On the contrary, they were isolated, they lost the opportunity to become not a formal, but a truly independent state. They are now looking for a new owner or owners."
