Setting up a checkpoint in the Lachin Corridor undermines confidence-building efforts; Patel
The Deputy Spokesperson of the US State Department, Vedant Patel, referred to the situation in the Lachine Corridor, stressing that they are deeply concerned about the checkpoint installation.
"The US State Department is deeply concerned about establishing a checkpoint in the Lachine Corridor. This move undermines the efforts to build trust. Our point of view is that there should be a free and open passage of people and commerce in the corridor of Lachin. At the same time, US diplomatic missions, including Senior Advisor Bono, Assistant Secretary of State Hogan, and the Secretary of State himself, continue to be deeply involved in the process.
